Dr. Malik Fernando

Dr. Malik is a Board member of PLANT and a former President of the WNPS. A retired medical professional, he is an avid nature lover, especially of aquatic environments. A trained SCUBA diver, he has studied and imaged many families of marine invertebrates and seaweeds, as well as freshwater molluscs. He is an active member of the WNPS Marine Committee. A founder member of the Sri Lanka Sub-Aqua Club, he is also a Past President of the Sri Lanka Natural History Society and is its current Patron. He is also a Past President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association.
